Mark is a professional, performing pianist with over 30 years' experience.  

Classically trained from eight years old with a number of teachers including Bransby Byrne, Mark built on his training by performing and directing in a number of different genres:

  • jazz/cocktail & classical, solo & ensemble for corporate & private functions
  • rock/pop bands
  • rock/pop, classical & cabaret vocal coaching & accompaniment
  • repetiteur, pit keyboards & musical direction for musical theatre
  • custom musical arrangements
  • traditional & digital piano, & keyboard/synthesiser

He has accompanied contemporary, jazz and classical vocalists and instrumentalists in venues all over Sydney.  His musical direction credits include Les Miserables, 42nd Street, Cats, Beauty & the Beast, West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, The Boy From Oz (the inaugural production at the Concourse in Chatswood), and the Australian premieres of The Scarlet Pimpernel & Titanic.  He was repetiteur and keyboard player for the Australian premiere of Mike Batt's The Hunting of the Snark, with Daryl Somers, Doug Parkinson, John Waters, Cameron Daddo & Phillip Quast.

 Over the years, Mark has worked with well over one thousand adults and young people to foster their individual love & appreciation of music in all its forms, and to help them develop capabilities in accordance with their goals.

Based on his broad performance experience, Mark offers individual piano and music theory lessons, and vocal coaching, from his studio in Baulkham Hills.  He believes that anyone can make and appreciate music, and enjoys nothing more than sharing his passion for music to inspire others in their musical journey.
